So first post on the site. I'm going to update this page as often as I can, with observations and reviews of films I've seen at the cinema. I've seen a few films this year at the cinema starting with Paddington, that I really enjoyed, then Birdman, which was an acting tour de force if a little overlong, Foxcatcher which was a fascinating true story that featured some incredible performances from the whole cast. Next up was The Theory of Everything which was a touching story about the life of Stephen Hawking and his first wife, Jane. Eddie Redmayne was incredible as Stephen but was matched all the way by Felicity Jones whose quiet control was stunning. I followed this with Whiplash, a film that I had been looking forward to since I watched the first trailer. The film was sublime, featuring stunning performances and fascinating take on the desire to be the best and the commitment it takes to get there. Last up in January was Big Hero 6. Disney's first animated Marvel feature. Again I would recommend catching this if you can.
